Alpha Xi Delta

Delta Chi at University of Northern Iowa

Letter From Membership Vice President

Dear Potential New Members,

As we go through the spring and fall semesters of 2025, I would like to explain what sorority life means to me. Sorority life has had a major impact on my life, allowing me to make new friends, gain volunteer experience, and enjoy endless opportunities for growth. As someone who was hesitant to go through recruitment as a freshman, I must say, it was the best decision I have ever made and has positively impacted my college experience.

When I first stepped into Alpha Xi Delta at UNI, it immediately felt like home to me. I got along with all the women I talked to during recruitment and fell in love with the AXiD home. Alpha Xi Delta truly accepts all women and we celebrate our differences. Women who I would have never been friends with outside of AXiD, have become some of my best friends, who I can truly count on. Our core values (sisterhood, knowledge, leadership, and service) are present at every sisterhood, chapter meeting, ice-cream run, etc. The women in this chapter have changed my life and made me fall in love with sorority life and UNI.

Although I went through formal recruitment, Continuous Open Bidding or COB, is a great way to become a part of sorority life. It is less stressful, easy, and allows you to make more connections in a short amount of time. COB can be scary to go through, but putting yourself out there will only be worth it in the end.

Alpha Xi Delta is always excited to get new members and expand our chapter. As Membership Vice President, I love getting to know women that could be a part of our chapter and grow our sisterhood. AXiD has incredibly impacted my life and completely changed me as a person.

All Xi Love,
